Dove Emblem

Paul Shepherd, age 78, of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Mr. Shepherd was born to the late Robert and Dora Shepherd in Shepherdsville, on November 20, 1938. Mr. Shepherd really enjoyed his job as a taxi driver with Bullitt Taxi. Mr. Shepherd was a Godly Christian man who loved his wife, Jean, dearly. He was a great musician. He could play any instrument his hands could touch. He loved the gospel and his favorite artist was Merrill Haggard. Mr. Shepherd had a green thumb and loved gardening. He was a jokester and always had an array of corny jokes ready and waiting to share, and don't forget he was only 29 years old… no matter when you asked him. Mr. Shepherd loved people and socializing, he was a great husband and family man, of all the things he loved; he loved his family and friends the most. Mr. Shepherd will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Among those that preceded him in death include his parents and a brother, Robert L. Shepherd; a sister, Joyce Mann, and a stepson Sonny Arvin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jean Harper; daughter, Kimberly Wesley; sons, Joseph and Nathan Shepherd; stepsons, Dale Harper (Sarah) and their five sons, and Buck Arvin (Linda) and their son and daughter; grandchildren, Samantha Wesley, Matthew Wesley (Stephanie), Madison Shepherd, and Brooke Wesley; a great grandchild, Carson Blair; one sister, Ramona Helen Richardson; and one brother Charles Shepherd (Glenda), and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood, & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with burial in Bullitt Lick Baptist Church Cemetery to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 10:00 till 12:00 (the time of the service).
