Mr. Louis G. Tarpley, age 76, of Fern Creek, returned to his Heavenly Father on April 2, 2017. Mr. Tarpley was born on October 21, 1940 in Louisville, KY to the late Thomas G. and Mary Sue Arnold Tarpley. He was a member and President of the New Albany Jaycees Club, where he was voted Man of the Year. He was a Mason member of Aurora Lodge #633. Mr. Tarpley was employed with Pillsbury and later retired from Brown and Williamson.
Among those who preceded him in death include, his aunt, Ruby Ross.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Virginia "Jenne" Tarpley; children, Timothy N. Tarpley (Benita), Tara VanArsdale (Robert) and Valerie Prichard (Michael); grandchildren, Trinity, Raegan, Kenidi, Kathryn and Brokk and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Brookland Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects on Thursday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
