Mr. Gary Paul LaMonda Sr., 67, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Mr. LaMonda proudly served his country for 23 years in the United States Army. He enjoyed woodworking and was considered the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan. Mr. LaMonda's greatest accomplishment was his children. Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, James and Violet LaMonda; stepfather, Robert Lang and stepsister, June Lang. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 18 years, Niki Singleton LaMonda; children, Gary LaMonda Jr. (Brandi), Chris LaMonda, Kelley Bryant (Chris), Patrick LaMonda (Alicia); stepchildren, Justin Obernier (Stephanie) and Michelle Obernier; 9 grandchildren and two on the way; siblings, Cheri Longo, Jack LaMonda, Marcia Bemont and Ted Lang.
Funeral service with military honors will be held at 12 pm Saturday, September 23, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 2pm until 8pm. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the American Cancer Society. www.subfuneralhome.com
