Charles Richard Lumpkins Sr., 87, of Bullitt County returned to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, August 8, 2017.
Mr. Lumpkins was born January 17, 1930 in Barbourville, Kentucky and was a United States Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. He retired from Curtis 1000 Inc. and was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington.
Among those who preceded him in death include his parents, Covy and Florence Brock Lumpkins; siblings, Peggy Kaiser, Ragland Hall, Eugene Lumpkins, Deanna Lumpkins and Covy Lumpkins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 60 ½ years, Bettie Lumpkins; son, Rick Lumpkins and daughter-in-law, Cindy; granddaughter, Britney Lumpkins; sisters, Sandra Canady and Joy Disney and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home, Mt. Washington (Hwy 44 east one mile from Bardstown Rd.) with burial in Highland Memory Gardens.
Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
