Steve was a great guy. From when we first met when I was in the hospital after running over myself with a truck, until about 2 weeks ago we stayed in touch. He actually found a place on me where they had inserted a bolt, that the doctors had failed to put on my chart, thus everybody else didn't know to change the dressing. We became friends and I valued his insight and comradery, immensely. Just a great, positive, genuine

Steve was truly one of a kind. A visit to my mom at work wasn't complete without a trip to 7S to see Steve and the crew. No matter how busy he was, he always stopped for a hug and a laugh. His eyes lit up when he talked about his family. Visits to UofL will not be the same. The world will be a much better place if we all tried to be a little more caring, compassionate, and genuine like Steve was. He was an amazing person.

I'm so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I did not know him well but worked with him many times over the last several years. Steve was always one of the more approachable and helpful nurses I've had the opportunity to work with at University Hospital. He was always happy to work with me in doing whatever he could to make it easier for me to provide the best therapy I could to our patients, and always with a smile on his face. He will be sorely missed here at University. Godspeed, Steve.

We will always remember Steve for his compassionate help to us when Doyle was at
University Hospital with a brain injury. He went above and beyond to help us through a very difficult situation. May he rest in peace with our Lord.

Steve was an unselfish, caring and generous person. I knew him for 21 years and worked with him from 1996 to 2004 on 7 South. After I left 7S,
he would occasionally participate with the U of L Stroke team in outreach events, especially the yearly Stroke Education event on Senior Day at the KY State fair. That day was a special time for all of us..After we finished working, Vicki, Laura, Steve, Terri and myself would always go to
